These bags are great for the price and hold ~26lbs of product because there is about 1/2 an inch of space around the bucket and 1 to 2 inches on top when sealed. I folded recent ones to use 2 in a bucket to have more product in a bucket. They seem sturdy, but I do place them in the bucket before filling them. I did have to transfer one bag to another bucket and it seemed ok and did not break. They seem like they are at least 4.5 mil thick as a guess but I can't promise as I have no way to measure that. I have not cleaned then or had them long enough to say about durability.Worked very well for storing our bulk purchases combined with oxygen absorbers!They are very thin, dont think the food will last too long.It leaksThis 5 gallon size mylar bag is great for lining a food bucket or even safe storage in a cardboard box. Water proof when sealed, airtight. Perfect for larger food quantities or filling with granola bars.I had to move out-of-state and these bags worked perfectly. After sealing the bags and boxing them up, the food was kept fresh and bug free. Excellent product!These are very thick and very sturdy. The bags are very sturdy and sold at a reasonable priceGet your Mylars from a reputable company and go with at least 7 ml thick. I put oats, grain and rice in these and they all had punctures after one day…from just the grains. They are not sturdy enough for long term storage. I’d also suggest going with 1 gallon. That way you only have to use 1 gallons worth at a time and don’t risk spoiling 4-5 gallons when you open it for use.
